Very nice indeed - I will miss the Nimrod, when she is finally grounded.

Isn't that the $64,000 question - there has been much speculation about their future. The RAF has included the scrapping of the programme to the Defence Review Committee but politically it would be a catastrophe for Scotland, of course.

I heard but have not seen for myself that the RAF have offered to forego the MRA4 - The Nimrod R1 are due out of service next year I'll certainly be at Waddington for that :( The big question is what will take over? we have nothing to spare now.....

The one above is in immaculate condition!!!

She is - I've been on commercial A/C not as clean as XV323, I expected to see boot marks & scuffs but not a bit of it.

Is that aircrew pride? Or hardworking groundcrew - or a bit of both?

We had a tour of XV232 just over a week ago, in fact my pics are taken from virtually the same angles. I agree, she really is in immaculate condition.

By contrast, we also had a look inside the Shackleton. It was great to be able to compare two aircraft with a similar role separated by 20 or so years development.

The best thing about 232 is she is being kept live and will perform taxi runs on Coventry's runway. :D
