Hello

Postby Readycrew » Wed Mar 09, 2011 5:03 pm

Hello
I'm new here I found this forum searching the web. I love anything to do with aircraft especially those with radial engines. This stems from my earliest childhood growing up with my favorite idle my dad. Dad was a tail gunner on the B-29 Four-A-Breast # 44-86323 he saw 56 combat missions over North Korea. I'm looking forward to seeing what I may learn here.

The B-29 is one of my favorites, too!

B-29 Pictures

Postby Readycrew » Wed Mar 09, 2011 5:50 pm

I unfortunately am not the handiest person with a computer.
I am not totally sure how to load pictures yet. I remember several good stories from Dad's time in the Korean conflict.
He was stationed on the island of Guam and was with one of the first groups to arrive on the island to prepare for combat missions. They had to fight Russian MiG 15 jets that shot some sort of rocket at them. They would fly up and sit between two B-29's and turn side ways and shoot at them. The pilot radioed back to ask if he could see anything wrong with tail because the steering was not to good. Dad did not see anything until they were on the ground . Just a few inches above his head the tail had extreme damage from gun fire.

Larry:

If your photos are already up on the Net somewhere, then
it ought to be easy to post them on here.

If NOT, then there are plenty of Iconic Forumeers who would
be happy to help you out!

Just ask!

I'm REALLY not the person to ask, but I
think the first thing you're gonna need is
a scanner........

Or a FRIEND with a scanner......

Once they're scanned and hosted somewhere
like Photobucket, then you can send them
almost anywhere you'd like to!

Of course I have never done
this, but that doesn't mean YOU can't do it.

Some of the crew members of Four A Breast having beer on their free time.
Dad is wearing the stripes the others I think are the pilot, copilot, and engineer.
