Hi Harrierfan2 - welcome to IA

To answer your question not that I know of, however Yeovilton is not my area and is of course Navy whereas I was RAF so they may do things differently I never checked. Often there are NoTAMS that may give you some info if you can decipher them lol

The only places that do seem to give flight info is The Reds and BBMF but as I say as they are local to me they're the only ones I ever check.

Oli may know...... so over to you Mr Cat.

Never been to Yeovilton on an operational day, only the show (it's on my to do list for 2012). But I believe it is like most airbases and they don't publicise flight times, turn up on a weekday and hope for good weather and a lot of flying.

NOTAMs are a good way of finding out about Exercises, Base closures, Air displays e.t.c

I often check this website for NOTAMS: http://www.notaminfo.com/ukmap
Fly fast jets and/or C130s over my house please, I'm bored!

Welcome young man - I wish I had started photographing military aircraft at 15 years of age. :p Post your photos here when you have taken some. I guarantee that they will not be criticised in a negative sense - unlike on some other forums. ;)

Try here for the best spots at Yeovilton: http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk ... vilton.php and also for useful airband frequencies. (If you live near enough a military air-band scanner may prove to be very useful).

Points J and K are in what used to be known as Farmer Krang's field. He never objected to people parking in the yard or lane as long as no obstruction was caused. However do not stand under the approach near the fence at #29 end as I once saw a Phantom take out the lights and write off its undercarriage before he even reached the runway threshold :-o But there are acres of space in this field - so pick your spot and take a packed lunch. ;)

Keep in touch. ;)
