Missed seeing and hearing the Dakota today :( :(.
Was due to be heading over Springfields Gardens, Spalding at 1300, but must have gone early.
Weather at the time, about 2 miles away from Spalding, was grey and rainy.

EDIT: Dakota was spotted at about 1015 over Spalding.

At just after 1610 today, I spotted an Osprey Helicopter flying over Spalding. First time I had seen one of them.

Well done Pam. No aircraft seen here today. Last time 558 came over my house was on 25 July 2008.

Visiting my daughter in Hampshire and went down to Gunwharf Quays at Portsmouth today ...

Sitting having lunch outside when my ears pricked up and suddenly a Spitfire went over really low towards the Isle of Wight - all I had time to see identification wise was the pointed style fin with a low back and the growl sounded more Griffon than Merlin so I suspect a late mark ...

I looked at the BBMF schedules and don't think it was one of theirs so research suggests is may have been G-SPIT MKIVe

Where was it off too I wonder ... closely followed - going in the same direction - by a low flying Wokka ;) :p

Was looking forward to seeing the Queens Flypast Practice today.
They totally missed where I was :(( :((.
My only view of the flypast was the grey smudge in the distance :( :( :( :(.

Thank you. If I had gone to where the route was planned for, I would have missed her. She came approx 200 feet or so away from me \:D/ \:D/ (only a guess, but closer than the 2000+ metres away that the route had it).

These were taken by my brother. First time he had seen her fly.
It was the second time she had been over, or near, my house.
First time was 25 July 2008.

does anyone know why the ospreys keep fling north over York (towards Leeming) usually early evening.
we quite often have a pair going north and then usually a single returning

Very noisy strange looking things.

On way home from village and spotted a Spitfire and Hurricane flanked by two Typhoons over flying the WAVE, followed a bit later by Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane and one of the Typhoons, the other Typhoon was behind and to the right following the formation, again appeared to fly over the WAVE, hopefully someone will have photos.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Image
