Yep I understand that Thumps - I was in bed by 7.00 Saturday night, had a lie in yesterday, did nothing all day, went back to bed at lunch time, another early night and doing nothing today too.......still no energy tho' I'm not sleepy tired any more [or grumpy] lol ....just drained.

As I believe I said before - what worked for me was, don't over do it, but I did find that after a while pushing the boundaries a little each time stretched my limits - listen to your body if you need to rest/sleep do so whatever time of day - even last year I had to go back to the car & have a sleep for a couple of hours - not this year tho' \:D/

No, you got your nap in on Friday!!!!! =))

The problem I have Mayfly is that I am back in full time work and over-doing it and pushing myself far beyond what is possible on a daily basis, if I don't I won't have a home or food! I shouldn't do anything at the weekends but I can't help myself, hate wasting my only time off and sleeping it away. Better the devil you know I suppose!

For RIAT I was gonna ride over on the Wednesday, chill out at the campsite on the Thursday, do arrivals and practise Friday and take a very steady and slow ride back Sunday. Even being that spread out I still thought "ooo is that too much". Some days I do nothing but maybe a short dog walk and I am shattered whereas the other month I worked all week, went to Shuttleworth at the weekend and then worked all next week including overtime and was okay.... there's just no damned pattern so I never know if I am pushing too much ARGHHHHHHHHH ~x(

Oh well, I'm going horse riding instead on the Wednesday now, booked that today and bought some new kit to cheer me up :D

Plus I ordered this as Naomi Campbell had a last minute booking (XPL.... GIT) ;)

Well I understand how you feel Thumper, cos usually my airshow companion ( wife ) goes with me but due to ill-health hasn't been able to make it so like I had to go to Biggin on me own and probably Shoreham/Dunsfold/Eadtbourne and also RIAT if can make it ! Your right it's nowhere the same when your'e alone,I end up talking to programme sellers etc just for company,I think it also takes more willpower to go on your own too,not so much Biggin as it's only a few miles away but the longer journeys are a bore with only the radio to listen to,hey maybe you could forget the horse riding thing and put the dosh towards a male-escort for the day \:D/

Well I posted a reply to you Ace but it's been deleted for some reason!!!!!!!!!! ~x(

Shame I can't remember what I said in detail but I mentioned about me going to Shoreham this year too so if you fancy someone to chat to and the Mrs is OK with it you can chat planes n stuff wit me! :D And no that's not me hankerin for a lift :ymdevil:

Long journeys suck on a bike coz you can't eat or drink anything while your going along and there's no radio! :( It's also incredibly tiring and hard work with luggage (i.e. a tent n stuff) on the back as the balance goes to pot!

SnailRFC, there are plenty of arrivals on the Thursday but a fair few on the Friday as well, practise seems to be more heavy on the Friday so I chose that day as it seemed more action packed :)

Well only NEARLY! :ymdevil: :ymdevil:

Only if you have very good binoculars!

My tent will be pitched upon the only hill to the north of the airfield and I shall move about by pushbike to cover all the approaches for interesting shots!

A guy I work with is, I might look into it for 2011.

Anyway, I've had a change of plan with regards to this years RIAT now. I booked official Park and View tickets for Thursday AND Friday yesterday and will be in my usual Saturday attendance as well.
Car Parks open at 07:30 each day for P+V and you get a schedule of what is due as well, happy days. :)

EDIT - Darn the You cannot post because you are the last poster in this topic function!

The Vulcan is now OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED for RIAT 2010. :)
