Binbrook Lightnings 1982 to 1988

Postby MOD » Fri Jan 04, 2013 11:38 pm

This is the last last batch of slides from Binbrook. The earliest dates from Sept 1982 and the latest from May 1988 (albeit not taken at Binbrook)

Unfortunately I think that this really is the end of my Lightning slide collection. There were/are others but I'm beggared if I can find them.... :(

I used to hate fitting brake chutes, getting the wire into the clips round the jet pipes without shredding your hands was an art,

Well, Yeah, Rick, but how often do you
see a chute deployed like that without
the landing gear even being down??????

Rick's right Danf. There was a slight rise in the ground between the peri track level (at CG3) and the runway. Normally I didn't like to take landing photos that didn't show the undercarriage but I couldn't resist this one as the light was so good and he held onto the 'chute right to the end of his roll out.
