Care to step outside a minute? :p

Thank you XPL,Richard, Jim and Dagger for looking.. ;)

Your comments make spending hours ; finding, sorting, cleaning, scanning and uploading to Photobucket all worthwhile. Especially as I haven't ever seen these photos other than in a hand-held slide viewer.. I am really at a loss to explain how some are quite clean and bright whilst others - in the same box - are dull, dark and very dirty or grainy.

The best shots are from 91 onwards when I acquired my Canon EOS-600 and 70-300mm sigma 'slide or telescopic action' zoom. This lens died some time ago as the slide action eventually sucked in so much dust and grit that it seized and refused to zoom. That is why I now only use 'twist-grip' zooms.

You have more patience than me, I have thousands if digital photos and a cupboard full of olds photos as well, posted quite a few on here over the years, singly VC10, C130, Tristar and of course Vulcan.
You have a fantastic collection there covering dozes of aircraft types. Thanks for asking the time to share them.

Thanks Rick. This really is a 'labour of love' as most of these photos bring back so many happy memories.

Unfortunately there are loads whose details are lost forever in the mists of time. ALL my notes and copies of the articles I wrote at the time have long gone mainly due to my indifference but also down to me storing them in the garage and then my attic, which unknown to me needed a new roof - so the weather played a large part in their deterioration (as did the mice)!!!

At a rough estimate (for I am still finding boxes of slides that Mrs Mod had squirreled away) I have come across around 10,000 slides so far. I know a lot of my output went to various aviation magazine editors in the 80s - never to be seen again by anybody - but a greater amount went straight into the bin as being unrecoverable :(

BUT I recently promised to scan all my slides of my daughters (20 years worth) and found several boxes that contained shots of my daughters with the rest being of aircraft!!!

A real labour of love. The memories are the main thing, your photos of air days, at home days bring back memories for me too so thanks again.
