My first trip to SPTA in a while, bombing it up to the Plain on a Monday after school with another local photog. Ended up catching this up close in a Confined Area

And that was that for that evening, then went back and made another trip. And I am so glad I did...
Apache was there on the plain when we got there and we rushed up to catch him, was the closest I have ever been to a helicopter in flight. He was less than 10 metres at times, the downwash was so intense I couldn't hold my camera steady enough and it sent my tripod along with GoPro camera cartwheeling away. Had to signal for them to move back!

We left the hill very happy, and caught another Merlin in the Confined areas just after 8

And a video of the landing...
That'll do nicely. Hopefully will get up again soon, things are starting to get dusty...
