Mildenhall and Lakenheath 21/8/13 (Pic Heavy)

Postby Olicat » Wed Aug 28, 2013 11:12 am

Arrived at Mildenhall nice and early yesterday morning, soon we were greeted by a visiting KC-135

After putting up the tent we went out to Lakenheath where it was very busy, loads of F-15s up and around all morning

Went quiet for a few hours, so headed back to Mildenhall where a KC-135 was in the circuit

After the KC-135 landed they pulled one of the Ospreys across the runway although, unfortunately it was the only Osprey movement we saw all day

The nice light had vanished when the next movements happened

And finally, my alarm clock that morning...

Great low speed shutter shots Mr Cat. There does appear to be a bizarre pattern in the shadow areas on some of the pictures though?

This is how I did it...
In Photoshop, in a blank document with a transparent background type out your copyright message or logo and make it a repeating pattern across the photo, make sure this is all in it's own layer. Turn the layer opacity down to about 2/3% then make another text layer along the bottom with text (where mine says who the photo was by e.t.c) and make this layer 100% opacity. Then save the file as a .PNG (important not to save as a .jpg)

Then go into Lightroom, edit watermarks and create a new graphic style watermark using this .png file. If too noticeable you can turn down the opacity ;)

As for why, since starting taking photos of peoples cars I have a lot more people using my photos as profile pictures and they assume that because it's their car in the photo it belongs to them, so they send them off to be posted on the internet to audiences of 1000s of people... without my permission ;) so I decided on an impossible to remove watermark (the old one could be cropped or cloned out in a matter of seconds) You see what I'm getting at?
