barn owls in norfolk 2-3-13

Postby Sickbag_andy » Sun Mar 03, 2013 9:50 am

I visited some friends in Norfolk yesterday for a 60th birthday event and they (or he) had told me previously about the barn owls on the marsh nearby so I stuck my camera in the car in case I had time to go to look for them. He gave me pin point directions so between leaving the pub get together and going back to their house for tea I nipped off for a hour and I was not disappointed. Unfortunately some were to distant for photos and some needed a lot of cropping but we had one flew past about 15m away which was the highlight of the visit, I've been invited back to spend a day with him and he will show me the real hotspots plus where to see the kingfishers - I can't wait!

thanks - I've been trying for ages to find some barn owls that I could get photos of, round here i've only ever seen them at a distance and in poor light. If you're ever in norfolk go onto the marshes at Langley or Reedham and they are quite common there. I shall return soon!
