So I went up on the first farewell flight of the DC10 this morning 09:00 takeoff (actually 09:30 in the end) here are my pics of a brilliant day

Before take off

A few unusual shots of the airfield

Mmmmm the decor inside was lovely and I particularly enjoyed the curtains hanging off!

Few shots from the air. Took off out of Bham headed north over Manchester over Old Trafford then over Woodford then out over Liverpool flew along the north Welsh coast then down west Wales coast before heading back into Brum on a flight that lasted around 1 hour 20 minutes

Things from very high up!!

More lovely Decor!

What a seat

Then we landed back at BHX at 10:50

So the last few shots were take on and around the Aircraft before heading back to the terminal.

Then it was all over and time to head home this shot taken from the car park just as I left

The Aircraft a MacDonald Douglass DC-10-30 S2-ACR New ERA was delivered from MD brand new and we were told that this Aircraft was the last DC10 ever built so she has some historical importance. So what of the future of this machine well there are all kinds of rumours going around but this is what the crew told me today.
She is to be flown back to Dhaka on the 25th February not to Bruntingthorpe where she will await her future as it has not yet been 100% decided. The hope is that she will still be gifted to the MD Flight Museum in Seattle but that remains to be seen.
Videos of today will follow once I have them sorted.
I would again like to thank everybody who helped in making today happen from Bangladesh Airlines and everyone at Birmingham International who were brilliant. Not many international Airports would have allowed what they did today so thanks guys!
Thanks for looking
Cheers
Lee.
