Thanks MR. Our PC has a GeForce 8800GTX and my eldest keeps trying to get me to buy another and run them in tandem. They are a lot cheaper now, but he can keep trying :D

Hi all,

Haven't been on here in ages what with Christmas and uni exams!

I've just bought the latest iMac which is due to arrive next week.

Is X-Plane 10 worth the buy and what joystick is good for it?

Thanks in advance!

TDC.

Yes is beats other sims hands down. You need to speak to my lad he uses it all the time, he uses a Logitech extreme 3d pro.

Excellent. I'll take the plunge! We had the sim out at cadets last night. I haven't played properly in over 2 years so I'd like to get back into it!

I'll get my lad to post on here. He Beta tests for them so what he doesn't know about it isn't worth knowing.

Info from No1 Son

Here's a few links to get you started…

http://forums.x-plane.org - Perfect community and downloads

http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showforum=90 - Pilot Training, getting to grips with Aviation and X-plane.

X-plane ships with program called Plane Marker. So yes you can create your own aircraft.

One project you might want to look at is the Vulcan, with money going to TVOC… http://www.x-plane.org/vulcan/

http://forums.xplanefreeware.net - Another good community and a few downloads on here too. LOADS of the B757 project stuff I helped with on there.

If you do want to read into aircraft development check out the Wiki…. http://wiki.x-plane.com/Category:Aircraft_Development

There are so so so many links that I could give. If you have a question or are looking for more information on something http://forums.x-plane.org is the largest and busiest community for x-plane.

Having spent hours watching the Son use this I believe it is by far the most realistic Flight Sim. The physics behind it are so accurate, the real time weather and graphics are unreal the only thing missing is motion.

Let us know how you get on with it.
