Don't you come here name dropping and complaining of temps of 22c... :p

Beautiful sunny day here but I noticed my fish have gone off their food in the pond over the last day 3-4 days a sure sign the water temp has dropped.

Don't worry Ray - its no worse than someone nonchalantly dropping into the conversation that they have a pond with fish in their garden ... we don't have such features in our humble gardens :D :p ;)

Resurrecting an old thread here,

7 yrs to the very w/e we were snowed in we got away with very little snow yesterday. Perhaps had .5inch in 2 hrs but it soon thawed.

I see they cancelled the Lincoln Christmas market for yesterday but as it turned out there would have been no need. Not sure if attendance would have been affected by those who live in the Midlands, 10 inches or more around Hereford.

We had around 5 ~ 6 inches in Weedon. Much less over at Wellesbourne, so no problems for XM655. :)

What's snow :D :p

My sister in Shropshire said they'd had a foot of the stuff - and my son in Barking was talking of a 'snow bomb'

But down here the only thing is REALLY BAD W I N D .... blew over a fence panel having totally uprooted a post ...
also blew out 5 of the 61cm sq glass panels from my greenhouse ... the wind got in through the partly open ventilation louvres (you know the ones you are supposed to close in winter but you don't get round to it X( ) and it had nowhere to go so the pressure blew the glass out ... shattered into millions of pieces all over my lawn ...

But no snow ..... at all :) ;)

We got off lightly 2 weeks ago, we only had 2.5 inches.

It snowed all day on Saturday but didn't settle until late afternoon. Yesterday it was difficult to say how much we had as some places was 4 inches deep others .5 inch. I see Cranwell had 12cm according to the news.

Well as you all know I've always joked that we just don't get snow/ice down here ...

Until 2 weeks ago .... we got 'dumped' on .. 4" in an hour and I had to abandon the car and walk home.

Worst since the last bad snow in 1986 when we had a 3 day blizzard. This last lot was pretty much gone in 2 days.

But yesterday - yet more - but a lot finer and wetter so its 'stuck' but not very much of it .. this morning there was a flurry and the sky went white and down it came again .. for 15 minutes then the sky's cleared - now blue sky and sun and temperatures rising by the minute - but all the schools shut - no papers ... the good old British knee jerk ... so we're off down the shops ... here's our shopping list ...

Handy snow day shopping list:
- 8,000 tea bags
- Everything in canned goods aisle
- All the bread
- 400 pints of milk
- Enough booze to fill shed
- 50 Easter eggs
- 12kg of cheese
- A whole trolley of crisps/sweets
- One small bag of lettuce

Must go ... need the supplies quickly .....................

There's no lettuce left in the country I bought it all yesterday so I hope you survive!
