just to let you know, there will be a small interview with the Project lead John Lilley in the next issue of online magazine "Airshow Stuff"http://magazine.airshowstuff.com/index.html
Also, the FAQ page is beginning to expand and will do in the near future too. There is a lot happening behind the scenes that cant really be spoken about till its finalised, but the website is a good place to go for answers to questions (if I cant help).

The People’s Mosquito is delighted to have join as our patron, Air Chief Marshal (Retd) Sir John Allison, KCB, CBE, FRAeS, RAF.

Sir John entered the RAF College Cranwell in 1961, and was commissioned as a Pilot Officer in 1964. In a distinguished Service career, he flew fighters such as the Lightning, Phantom and Tornado (although his favourite was, perhaps, the Phantom) and rose to some of the most senior appointments in the Royal Air Force, including Air Officer Commanding 11 Group. He retired in 1999 as Air Officer Commanding Strike Command. He was, however, perhaps better known by the general public as a superb display pilot, particularly of World War Two aircraft. His precise yet exciting displays of Rolls-Royce owned and Shuttleworth Collection aircraft have thrilled air show crowds for many years.

Sir John has flown more than 100 types of aircraft, and is a tireless advocate for all forms of aviation. As well as being a Director and Trustee of the Shuttleworth Collection, he is President of the Light Aircraft Association, and President of a Europe-wide aviation organization, the GA Alliance.

Sir John and Lady Allison have five children and twelve grandchildren.

There is probably a lot more to come too. Its just that when you start a project there is much to do. Normally all this is done privately and then all released together, but the way the project was started totally in public it has left us open to criticism for not being quick enough! A double edged sword I think. It wouldnt have worked without being done the way it was but was bound to attract criticism for the way it was done!

Some of the personal criticism stung some of the team, but they wont stop because of that, and as you can see from this example, much is happening behind the scenes.

If it helps at all the TVOC and in turn the Trust took a lot of stick - some was correct some, most in fact was totally out of place and thrown about by arm chair experts who haven't a clue. There is lot that can be achieved under the cloak of 'Commercial in Confidence', but many think that is an excuse for keeping secrets!

The only thing that bothers me about what I have read so far is -- cost £5m, time scale 5 years. From what I've seen it will either cost much more to achieve that time scale or take much longer to stay in budget. It took Glynn 5 years just to build his molds

For The Peoples Mosquito, that ratio is simply seen as a great challenge! Its certainly a big effort that will be needed, but there is as I alluded to, a lot going on behind the scenes to cement partnerships and relationships that can help this happen. It is going to be hard work, but we have to try. I'm sure there maybe possibly probably has been contact with someone at TVOC too

The PM Mozzie build is under way with £50k allowing the ribs to be cut. Still a long way to go but a start.

We know Corin and his wood work [obviously] is superb. This is the fourth build he has been involved with that I know of.

I see the People's Mosquito project made national news yesterday. They think it'll take about another 4 years.
