299 KM/H with only one wing [UltraHD/4K resolution]

Wasn't aware these projectiles could get THAT quick. I guess having a race tuned two stroke, very little fuel onboard to minimise weight and one wing helps ! Filmed in UltraHD / 4K. Watch out for the super slo mo at the end...it's still fast.

I used to fly control line team race years ago and we were always intrigued by the tuned pipe exhaust fuel injected speed models ... some of them are even single line control to cut drag further (which is twisted for up and down control) ... the long inside wing is really about 'fairing' the lines as well.

The lift is a very small part of the craft as the speed overcomes the air with very little aerodynamic lift.

The centre pole is...
A) to keep the line circle EXACT for measuring (no cheating ;) )
and B) to stop it pulling the pilot over :D

This is last years official control line speed record ... 335.19 KMH - 208,28 mph

The Yanks do it with electric 'cars' too ... 210mph :-o

Also there's Hydroplanes ... 221 kmh

Thanks for sharing those vids. Awesome stuff. Especially the insane hydroplane.
