F-15s at Lakenheath

Postby Hihonyr8811 » Wed Oct 22, 2008 11:28 pm

Oooooo my first topic :D lol

Anyway as I mentioned somewhere, mum and I decided to get the car run in a bit with a trip, we were going to Marham, but mum needed to use the facilities so we detoured to a little place inbetween Mildenhall and Lakenheath then carried on up the A what ever it is to the viewing area at LH. I've only been the once, so I don't know the area or where the best places to take pics are, and as it had taken almost 3 hours to get there (and it was getting dark) 8-| I just stuck my camera through the fence lol :)) Luckily they were using that end, and whilst I don't have any fancy equitment, I think the video came out ok :D

Here's a couple of pics to keep you busy till the video is processed (and I work out how to put it on here :)) )

Nice pictures. I've passed there loads of times but nothing's ever been happening.

Oh, word of advice, if the facilities you're on about are near Barton Mills roundabout, I wouldn't go there after dark. Men that are of the kind which don't like women but prefer male company frequent the establishment... if you know what I mean :p

I think the Mildenhall viewing area is more interesting. I keep meaning to go up there but never know when things are happening. Certainly there is always more large stuff flying around than at Lakenheath. Although saying that, Lakenheath have announced in the last few days that they're resuming night flights.

Strangly enough I've found the opposite, when we've gone past mildenhall it's been dead lol yet we were only at LH 45 minutes and saw 4 take offs and 4 landings lol :D :)) typicle isn't it lol
I'll have to have a look for the viewing area at MH if I ever go again, there were lots of "things" on the ground, saw nothing flying though :( but I'd like to see soemthing.
Normaly I just turn up to places and hope for the best lol :))

They must have already started night flying, as I'm sure two flew over us as we were heading up the A134 towards Downham Market, it was pretty dark by that point though lol so could have been anything lol :)) :D ;)
