In memory of a very dear friend - Mike Pearson

Very fond memories of Robbie Gilvary - DTs 1st Vulcan Captain who taught DT all he knew.

The reports I've read state that the gear collapsed whilst landing, pilot not hurt, runway shut for a couple of hours and flights diverted to Brum.

What a shame, I'm very glad no one was hurt though.
Hope there wasn't too much damage.

WOW! Jim the DAILY FAIL has excelled itself, apparently the aircraft blew its FRONT wheel upon landing and there was only a pilot on board! :-o

To quote from the article:

Author Jenny Colgan wrote on Twitter: ‘PLEASE let it be time travel.’

Jenny is devoted Doctor Who fan and wrote a superb DW novel last year... :ymapplause:

Sadly, I suspect it will take more than the sonic screwdriver to fix the damage... :((

Yes it's been moved, I wonder whether they can source a new prop?

They are in front of the rear wheel though?
Should this not mean, by defination that someone without the correct knowledge would call them the front wheels?

You are of course correct though.
They are thick.
The information is out there should one be bothered to look even if not to make yourself look daft ;)

Glad it was not worse and hope it is not too hard to put right.

Kevin

The DAILY FAIL stated that the aircraft blew its FRONT wheel (SINGULAR), nothing to do with the main wheels being in front of the tail wheel! :-o

I failed to mention I have sent my CV to The Daily Mail for the position of WWII aircraft wheel placement and seat number correspondent. They turned me down because I only have a few years experience flying a desk and did not know where the bogey wheel was on it ;)

They asked me how suitable you were and I asked if they had looked at your address! :p
