Blimey,I was idly watching a film just now ( None but the brave ) and there was an American G.I and he had the strap on his M.I combat helmet done up !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-o :-o :-o

My Mum said they had them undone so that the blast from a mortar round didn't rip their heads off! [-x

How else were they to hang on to them when used as a portaloo =)) =)) Did anyone use the strap on the tin hat we used I never did apart from hanging it on your gas mask bag or similar.
