What the little squirt is after is paint scheme editing software..........

oh i see :p

i think there are programmes out there, but why not just look in the texture folder (summat like C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\Vulcan558-FSX\texture.558 2007) there are only a few .bmp files.

they are all quite weird shapes - presumably to wrap around the model like this..............

Image

I'm sure that you can modify them in Paint Shop Pro or similar.

i made a few adjustments to my VC10 instrument panel in PSP - just sharpened it a little and painted in a few places where the light was showing through

whatever he does though - make sure that he keeps the original file!!!! ;)

sm

edit - after a five minute 'tweak' of 558's texture files, i give you.............

THE STEALTH VULCAN :D

Tom there is software out there to do what you want - I have no idea how difficult it is to use tho'

http://www.abacuspub.com/catalog/s708.htm

this link will take you to a full demo version - but you can't fly the a/c unless you buy the full version

I've just downloaded the free version & had a play - it appears to be straight forward enough but I cant seem to take a screen shot to show you - mind you dont suppose you're interested in seeing a lime green/light blue/red vulcan :))

hi tom.com most FSX aircraft have encoded texture files (these help the FSX display software work faster) but you cant edit them without converting them to BMP of JPG type files first.
mayfly's suggestion is good as the abacus software is made for editing the encoded files without the need for expensive graphics programs and a conversion program.
if you are lucky and have bmp files like SM then just edit them with ms paint or paint shop pro here is one of my 'efforts'

and my first effort at an FSX encoded file;
