Funny you should say that RM, in this pic you can see me losing control of my VC10 .... why? .... well in the distance SM is crashing into Manston runway and Im laughing too much!

Another Wedgy & SM Airshow


My first flight in a Spitfire Mk XVI wasnt too successful - overcooked the engine somewhat


Formation takeoff. SM was in a Mk IX I believe

I blew my engine again, but still managed to glide in for a formation landing.


Round 2, was a formation takeoff in VC10s


Perfect!


Coming in for a formation landing on auto


Next up was me in a Tornado and SM in a VC10 ready and waiting to refuel me


Managed to keep the power at bay!

Wednesday's Flying with SM.

Some more VC10 to VC10 refueling ... very close SM!


Then SM tried what I did yesterday ... to refuel from a VC10 in a Tornado.
Well, he took off ....


Then crashed back into the runway!

Last night Prometheus joined myself and SM for a short sortie in some DC3s.

Then Prometheus decided to do some rolls, but without taking off first



Using FSHost is much better for multiplayer - its just a shame the graphics arnt as smooth as with GameSpy. But the benefits certainly out-weight the downfalls.

I have tried taking screenshots by pressing 'V' but Combat FS 2 doesn't seen to have that facility at least I haven't found t - so will need to pause, then take a single screen shot, because I have to press fn + prt sc together which for some stupid reason are at different ends of the keyboard so need both hands

Ive spend the day trying to find new aircraft, but none seem to work

DT's favourite - he was down to fly the one going to BBMF from BAe - great shame it crashed but we did get to look around it at North Weld airshow a few weeks before

tragic when the BAe Mozzie was lost

i saw her fly many times and she was so much more impressive than even the figures SAY she was! i never knew that she was due to join BBMF though Mayfly.

it makes sense that, with the Mozzie ticking all of Bomber Leader's boxes (multi-engined tail-dragger) he'd be in the frame for flying her. did he EVER get a flight, even as an observer?

anyway, when will we get some Mayfly FSX screenshots?

Todays Flights

We were graced with Mayfly's presence for the first time!
Spitfires are go!




Then Mayfly had to leave, so myself and SM visited Sydney.
Shame he got a little flirty in his DC3 with my Goose!


I then landed by the Sydney Harbour bridge




And waited for SM to fly under the bridge in his DC3

ummmmmmmmmm an unforgettable experience thank you both for my initation............

A little local Airfield spotting in a Dak

Bicester [the field under the right elevator is my r/c flyng site]


RAF Bicester [still a Gliding field , but only just ]


RAF Upper Heyford [now car storage and a site of historical interest < thanks English Heritage >]




RAF Croughton [now a USAF communications center]


RAF Hinton in the Hedges [still used as a drop zone and for Gliding]


RAF Finmere [Microlights only now ]


All were Bomber Command OTU's

hey Cluny - did you ever download that kml file for Google Earth that shows EVERY airsrip in the UK?

i decided to go through them alphabetically - it took me 3 days to get to "B"

absolutely fascinating!

As you may remember , i do like studying old Airfields

i can't remember if it's a self-installer or not - i have a feeling that you unzip it and just double click it.

one thing i DO remember is that you need to make sure that the airfields aren't stored in your "temporary places" bit - otherwise you loose them again when you shut GE down.
