Don't think this has already been posted, though I could be wrong ;)

Mum and I have been watching these this evening :-o :-o Just amazing what these men went through.

(Hope that link works)

Parts 2 and 3 are in the wrong order.

I was at Hemswell last week end and paid my respects at the memorial there.
Cannot even imagine 40 Lancasters all getting ready to go off on a raid.

Hony::::::::

I just watched the first few minutes of the
first segment, but the rest will have to wait
for later.........

I DO think this looks like a must-watch.

Can one of the Mods please glue it to the
top of the thread???????

XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.

Well, I've watched the whole thing and
it's Amazing!

Whoever made that documentary knew
exactly what he was doing, and it was
one of the best things I've seen on this
"Forum" in a long while.

Thank You, Helen!

Glad you enjoyed it :)

Totally agree!!

I got chills at the end of one part where he said something about all the happy faces and some of them wouldn't be returning.

I find it amazing that of all the hundreds of raids that must have taken place, only one film maker went (was allowed) on one of them.

To me, outside of the remarkable film quality
after all these years, the very best thing about
this documentary is the whole way it's presented......

No drama in the wording or the voice and no
gripping musical soundtrack to manipulate the
viewer's feelings.

Just the plain facts and the un-rehearsed images
are all that is required to make things chilling or
exciting or sad or inspiring -- the whole gamut of
human emotions.

I am very impressed, and I plan on watching it
several times more.
