There are not many of the Battle of Britain pilots remaining. We have now lost another of 'The Few': William Walker, who died on Sunday. At the age of 99, he was the oldest survivng pilot from the Battle of Britain. I remember well seeing him at the unveiling of the 'Temporary' statue of Air Chief Marshal Sir Keith Park (his 'boss' of Eleven Group Fighter Command) in Trafalgar Square, on 4th November 2009. I also saw him at the Unveiling of the 'Permanent' statue of Sir Keith Park, in Waterloo Place (off Pall Mall) on 15th September 2010 (Battle of Britain Day).
