So, how long till the second one is cancelled?

We are lucky to have any carriers at the moment.

Hermes sold straight after the Falklands.
Invincible was in the process of being sold to the Australians at the time of the argentine invassion.
Illustrious was going to be the one.
Ark royal ordered after the Falklands because of a perceived shortage

And HMS Ocean well her design was a compromise started life as some thing else and was converted at Barrow in Furness to her current role.

The future of the two large carriers will be decided at the stategic defence review. Politicians and civil servants make Arthur Daley seem like a genuine bloke.
