XPL, not sure about that, as I don't think there are other current aircraft in the fleet that it could be used for and I would like to think the 'new' spangly piece of kit should have new modern equivalents fitted.

Also just set off from work when the C17 landed and taxied in outside our hangar

Mick, I should think a lot of the kit aboard an R1 would be classified to quite a high level! ;)

I was there I saw the Mighty Hunter bow out :((

have to say Mike Chatterton exBBMF lanc pilot did us proud. It was stated she would ONLY do one pass and that would be it - but he did 4-5, top side too!

Dave, you may be right I have not got around to asking them. I'll ask about it when I ask about some pictures and videos I might need permission to post, so like Pam I have them sat on my computer.

Edited to add this, the conversion appears to have shortened the width so aircraft looks a bit squashed

I couldn't possibly comment :p But XW664 was the last Nimrod that will be on the wash pan here, so maybe it shrank when we washed it Sunday :D

C130J C4 did a takeoff from Hurn and a pass over wimborne, a lovely sight!

A C130 C-1 took off from Bournemouth at lunchtime. I loved it but I didn't have a camera! :(

12:40 , VC-10 heading north over Bicester .
12:55 , VC-10 [possibly the same one] heading south possibly back to Brize .

All day , lots of choppers heading to and from Silverstone .

No one spot 558 on her way to Yeovilton?

I believe she flew over head Lutterworth and Trowbridge Brize & Lyneham - and places in between!!!

Reds at 10.45 - most unusual to see over over our village especially in a formation of 9 - wonder where they were going? anyone know if there's a graduation at Cranwell today?

:-? They normally transit in 5 + 4 more I think about the more I'm sure they would have a Graduation then continued south.
