That's like me admitting to being a Man City & Scunthorpe supporter.................oh...................hang on :))

Edit: Your name and Hull made me think. I used to work with a guy called Eddie Waudby from Hull about 20 years ago, any relation?

I don't know Kev. It depends , did he owe you money? Could he spell his own name? Was he married to his sister? It used to be a very close knit community!! I escaped 1977... and headed for the bright lights of Worcestershire..

BTW Waudby is a Viking name and I was born 3 miles from the ancient Viking settlement of Great Waudby. It is now no more than 2 farms and a public common. When I was still living in Hessle ( 33 years ago) there were only 6 Waudbys in the East Riding phone book. However since then they seem to have bred in a way that makes rabbits look impotent :(

And if there's anything worse than a Middle Wallop it's a Nether Wallop =))

Me - I prefer ' A pint o' your 'Best Wallop' barman' :))

Olicat - these tours were the brainchild of WO2 Stuart Girdler ( soon to get his Pips! - fingers crossed). And yes the visit is on a Wednesday. Stuart does these in his own time and then makes up the time later !!

He is a Scot with a fund of great stories and unusually for his race , he is T-total !! Hence I usually take him some cans of something called IRN-BRU !! :-o.

As Gully intimated he also has a weird passion for ice-hockey - what the puck that is all about is beyond me. It sounds a bit too cold and violent to be an enjoyable sport for my tastes. Strange really when you think I used to be a Hull City supporter. :((

Ian

Stuart got promoted to Captain earlier this week.

On a recent visit he also said he had enough Irn-Bru to last for some time and so we gave him Coca-Cola instead.

As others have said, he's a great guy.

I had the pleasure of going along on this visit to raise funds for the A.A.C. Historic Flight, I have been requested to post the group photo that was taken by our host.

Nice to see you had a great time. Stuart does a great tour.

I guess he's remaining at MW following his promotion to Captain?

No he's posted to Wattisham and has no replacement so the visits will cease!

We are however hopeful that once he is established at Wattisham, visits to that base may be possible! ;)
