Not so bad to keep shiney once the hard work of getting it all to shine in the first place is done! ;)

Thanks D4th that was good stuff, much better than the cattle class treatrment we get these days. See that lovely old Brittania Ahhhhhhh proper job wasn't she. :ymapplause:

I recognised most of the equipment in those movies, bit worrying that, I must be older than I thought. :(

Nice DC7 too or was it?? But look how slick and quiet the Brittania was well shaped rear end like a proper English rose. :D

Not Globemaster or DC-7.........

Boeing Stratocruiser!!!!!!

First came the B-29, then the B-50, then the
C-97 and even Gaz's GUPPY!

BOAC and Pan Am were the biggest users of
the type, but there were never very many
made.....

AH HA!

Was this on your unanticipated visit to
my nation's Capital????????

I hope to get to Belize some day.....

My Cousin Charles wants to take me
to his vacation home there.....

I expect it's a little different than when
you were there due to all the investment
in the place, and it's become quite a hot
destination!

No this was a previous, planned trip to your nations Capital starting in Miami and going around the eastern seaboard up to Canada and then ending up in Washington D.C. for a nice VC10 ride back to belize from Dulles!

Au contraire mon brave D4th, check out the 3rd clip, Brit first, Globemaster second then at 4'40" a nice DC7 I think old bean. :D Globemaster ain't half an ugly bird though.

Like the Into the Blue clip, some really interesting stuff in that . did you spot the converted Halifax bomber??

You are RIGHT, Pat, it is Brittania first
and a DC-7 third, but the middle one is
a STRATOCRUISER, not a Globemaster.....

Funny, I didn't think BOAC ever flew DC-7s.....

It might be a DC-6, though, given the age
of the film.

We may Never Know!

Yep your right mate Stratocruiser indeed, still ugly old brute from the same parentage. Can't be a DC6 they did not operate them. Looked again, its definitely a DC 7C they used them to plug the gap in Brittania deliveries and they did have DC 7s on inventory, according to Wikepedia. ;)
