Boulton Paul Open Day - 7th June '09

Postby Gully » Thu Jun 18, 2009 1:26 pm

Took a trip to the Boulton Paul Heritage Centre earlier in the month for one of their quarterly open days. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect, given that with my construction background I only really knew of the Boulton Paul name in relation to doors! To be fair, I knew of the Defiant, but that was about it.

Whilst the Heritage Centre is small, there's loads packed into the two workshops. Here's a selection of images celebrating a "lost" name of British pioneering aviation:

A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon out and great to see the MaPS 655 team there supporting the open day.

I recommend looking Boulton Paul up on Wiki - fascinating history, despite the name now being lost via Dowty and GE.
