Spitfire and Typhoon over London

A friend has just called to say he's spotted a Typhoon and Spitfire heading towards central London and wondered what it was for. Any ideas?

that's odd - i thought single-engine machines were banned from central London - BBMF having an exemption that is - what about a Mustang though? :-?
