Purely from a laymans point of view that's disappointing - I use to be glued to the TV watching the 'space race' :(
In memory of a very dear friend - Mike Pearson

Very fond memories of Robbie Gilvary - DTs 1st Vulcan Captain who taught DT all he knew.

Our president is currently running in
Appearances Mode, and Constellation
is merely a convenient target for actions
which will allow him to APPEAR as if he's
doing his job.

The rationale behind this decision is
the equivalent of having to re-invent
the car or the air(aero)plane every
time a new one comes out rather than
building on and improving what you
have experience with already.

It's also an old story to see a program
which is severely under-funded be CXed
when they fall behind due to the lack
of sufficient money and be castigated for
waste, incompetence or worse.

None of this is about science, it's all
about politics, and I just hope everything
gets saved so it can be hauled-out and
dusted-off should sanity reappear.

Mister Obama is listening too closely
to his advisors who, unfortunately, have
it in for NASA's present leadership. Big
Gummint breeds Big Egos, and that's what
we're seeing here....

Easy, blame it on the BANKERS!

TSR-2 simply got the first 3 right. ”

Seems like a bit of a waste of nine billion dollars!

They could have given that to 558

;)
NB; Any negative comments I post about the Vulcan are posted SOLELY to wind Gregg up!
