A Request...

Postby IanM » Sat Apr 10, 2010 10:50 pm

After a great day at Buntingthorpe today sitting in cockpits, etc. I started thinking...

In 1983 my parents took me to RIAT at RAF Greenham Common and I got to sit in a few aircraft due to a relation being in the RAF.

One aircraft was his Harrier...

but I sure as hell have no idea what the other was. It was definitely a big jet with a pilot and co-pilot, cabin in the back, etc. but that's all I remember.

What got me thinking was Canopus' cockpit seemed very familiar today so I was wondering if anyone knew if she was at RIAT 1983 or if a Nimrod was there??

Just wondering really :)

Found out it wasn't Canopus, it was a Nimrod :)

That'll explain the similarity then! ;)

Further to me finding out it was a Nimrod, it appears to be the one which crashed in Toronto in 1995 :( :(
