Miss Helen Mustang Incident

Postby Thumper » Sat Feb 05, 2011 11:06 pm

Just found this video on another site of the Mustang "Miss Helen" hitting Duxford's 'bump' and almost having a nasty.

Second video down:

http://www.flyingmachinestv.co.uk/

The report can be found below:

http://www.aaib.gov.uk/cms_resources.cfm?file=/North%20American%20P-51D-20%20Mustang,%20G-BIXL%2012-08.pdf

This bump has also caught out Sally B as well

SCARY! :-o

Sally B rode it a bit better!

Seen a few come a cropper on the bump, over the years
NB; Any negative comments I post about the Vulcan are posted SOLELY to wind Gregg up!

where does the IWM stand if the `Duxfrod bump` catches out an unwary pilot and wrecks his plane............ :-o

Sorry Cluny, I missed that! :ymblushing:

I don't think Duxford would be held responsible in any way as that bump is before the threshold, therefore it would be put down as pilot error for not touching down on the "correct spot".... I would presume.
