The last time i was at Waddington (which was about 10 years ago) there was an F4J sitting in one of the hangers.
On asking about it i was informed that the station CO was an ex Phantom jockey and it was there because of him,i wonder if its still there ?.

I think that belonged to 23 Sqn they brought it back from the Falklands, I remember there was a bit of hoo-hah about it because the MOD had stated only one gate guard per station as many were getting into a state but 23 Sqn did their own thing [as it appears they always did] and took no notice. :))

It was still there the last I heard - tho' I didn't remember seeing it recently they used to allow cockpit entry and photos for charity at the air show.
In memory of a very dear friend - Mike Pearson

Very fond memories of Robbie Gilvary - DTs 1st Vulcan Captain who taught DT all he knew.

Shucks for a minute I thought the MOD might be bringing in the Phantom as a Joint Strike Fighter Gap filler to keep the Navy with a carrier launched aircraft ready for the great white elephant due in 2020 or 2030 or maybe never. :))

Shame the old Hunter is in such a state, hope it gets saved.
