UK DOCUMENTARY

Postby Sophieoliver » Fri Feb 03, 2012 11:14 am

We are making a series for a prime time UK channel and are after video clips of amazing landings, mid-flight or take offs at any airport, all over the world, that may demonstrate in our programme the dangers encountered in the air, and the incredible job that pilots – and their crew, do. Situations could include bird strikes, technical failure, dangerous weather, acts of God, airports with difficult landing environments but we’re not limited to these categories in any way. If you have experienced such a circumstance and have captured it on camera (or know of someone who has) and are willing to share your story with us by way of an on camera interview or just simply let us include your footage, we’d love to hear from you.

We’d also like to hear from pilots and technical aviation experts who may like to comment on specific events, processes and protocols.

It would be great to make contact as soon as feasibly possible as we go into production in the next few weeks and prefer to give all our contributors as much time and notice as we can!

Please do not hesitate to contact me to talk further.

Hi Sophie. I assume from your posts that you are talking Commercial Airline rather than Military 'Horror Stories' here?

There are certainly tons of this stuff on YouTube but obviously 'authenticity' and 'copyright' are the issues there.

I wish you luck but personally I can't bring myself to watch these sort of lurid and often sensational programmes.

I am anxious enough flying as it is without more horror stories being unearthed. :(

Now if it had been stories/anecdotes regarding our military flying heroes I, and quite a few people on here, could more than likely point you in the right direction. ;)

(BTW I assume that you have also contacted http://www.pprune.org/)

Good luck - ibw
