Oxfordshire Plane crash in 2009

I did not know a Wing Commander could suddenly become a Flt lt in the space of a sentance or two as in this report of the Tutor & glider .Seems the Flt Lt had a very serious spinal prob;lem as well which I think they had to have known about.

The ATC instructors were halved over night, well 46% actually as with one stroke of a pen they stopped all ATC instructors over the age of 60 flying over night regardless of medical status.
