And they say I'm an anorak!

Postby Spitfire » Tue Jun 22, 2010 9:51 am

I was just looking on Google for a picture of a Beaufighter for a colleague as we were having a discussion about something that crashed near here in the wartime... however - that's by the by.....

Whilst Googling I came across this ...............Sad People

Some chaps actually play games with planes on sticks with dice on a sort of hexagon board and 'shoot' each other down and re-enact famous battles :-o :-o
If you look at the pics you can see that when a plane is 'shot down' they take it off the stick and put a shaving brush on it to signify smoke no doubt =))

I knew they did it with little soldiers and cannons and stuff - but not planes on sticks :o) :o)
If you read the blurb they are deadly serious and its all very important :p :p

It takes all sorts :D

OMG I bet they are all librarians or accountants! :p

TSR-2 simply got the first 3 right. ”

UUUmmmm come on now - lets get real here MF - just look at what you typed and the answer is there already :ymdevil:

This
flying little model aircraft

Or this
playing with them on sticks

I think the key word there is FLYING don't you :D :D

I shall now stop making my scale model of DT to fly in my scale Vulcan - in the sky where he belongs - and mount him on a stick inserted neatly in the nearest orifice I can find to ground level - then ask him which he prefers :ymdevil:

I rest my case your honour :o)

No models were hurt during this exchange of views & my opinion are my own & do not reflect those of the sane members of society!!
