Lightnings at Binbrook 82-88

I don't claim that these scans are anywhere near the quality of Fred Martin - a close neighbour and schoolmate.

I have rescanned some of these with a better scanner than before.

LOVELY stuff, Thanks Ian! :ymapplause:

Eye-Bee.........

I just had to look at them multiple times.

Those are all of them great photographs.

Thank You for letting us get a look at them!

They are happy and sad in the same moment.

I just had to say some more...........

The EE Lightning has been, for me, an acquired
taste. Certainly not a Bee-Yoo-Tee-Full aircraft,
especially when sitting on the ground. Get 'em
up in the AIR, however, and VOILA! Flying PORN!

Talk about POWER and CAPABILITY and sheer,
unadulterated (...I don't know...) PURPOSEFULNESS!

These photos really show things the way they truly
were. Big puddles of fuel under parked aircraft.
Paint schemes in need of attention (the guts came
first). Gritty, no-nonsense, get to 40,000 ft. ASAP.

THAT is why these pics are SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!

Just love this batch of images, sir.

I consider myself very lucky that I've had two of these amazing machines, on my doorstep, for most of my life!

What fantastic pictures :ymapplause: and it all fuels my love affair with them. Too young too see one flying & remember it, but great pics like these will do ;)

Just a reminder of the noise (Without stealing MOD's thunder). I've only just got round to uploading it after it taking me an age to realise I had video editing software with my camera.

Beautiful.

It's amazing, the ground shook so much that with a tripod photos came out blurred and shaken! :-o

Thanks.........those ice crystals would be the same ones I was carefully trying to remove from my lens for a good 30mins after, made especially difficult with the temps being below freezing ~x(
