some Heathrow departures 22-9-2012

Postby Sickbag_andy » Tue Sep 25, 2012 1:04 pm

for ages I've been promising myself a trip to Heathrow and finally managed it on Saturday, I had planned (or should that be planed) my locations carefully then they changed onto 09 operations on Saturday morning so a quick re-schedule was necessary so I headed to Feltham Park where these were taken. I was surprised (and disappointed ) to find that a lot of the shots as they came towards me were spoilt by heat haze (in late september!) but still managed to bag quite a lot, I was surprised how few 747s there were apart from the BA & Virgin ones, anyway here they are, comments welcome:

thanks for the comments.

The A340s always disappoint me when I try to photograph them as they are such a long slim tube that it is difficult to avoid loads of sky around an elongated aircraft. Only chance is to be almost nose on and crop the wings a bit /lot to fill up the areas of sky.
