If that is the case Andy, then well spotted. Does seem a little underhand!

I signed it before I realised it went into the guess book - but it has been stated on the tvoc forum that the 2 entries will be seperated out. Obviously the longer it takes to do that the more work will be involved.

Just had a look at the 558 website and the messages posted on the Birthday Card record attempt. The good news is that the messages are not being censored - mine is reproduced as I posted it. :p

The bad news is that they are still claiming old guest book entries as Birthday Card items. Out of a claimed 2920, only 1880 are really responses to the Birthday Card appeal, the remaining 1040 are old ones.

If this was going to be sorted out, wouldn't it have been a better idea to do it before the whole thing was put into the public domain? :-o

XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.

The aircraft may be grounded and the trust in administration long before the 25th May.
To me there doesn't seem to be any worthwhile outcome unless your bothered by the record of signing a virtual birthday card.

The point is old bean:
1. Its not quite British to give up when your not beaten.
2. Its not British to give up even if you are beaten.
3. Its not at all British to actually understand what beaten is, apart from 1066 dashed Frenchies and 1776 darn colonials, we never have been!
4. The band may be playing on the poop deck, but we are not on the Titanic, shes not going down!
5. Making a Vulcan fly is very British!
6. Anyone who does not understand 1 to 5 above is not quite British, whatever their passport says!

With about 30 days to go, they've got almost 8000 signatures. Obviously nowhere near the fanciful target of 558,000, but does anyone know what the actual current world record is? It would be nice if they could break it.
