OOooo Look .......Prayers answered

Postby Spitfire » Wed Jul 07, 2010 12:06 am

It appears that RNAS Culdrose may have bitten the bullet this year and booked a certain triangular tin tray for their air day .... literally only 10 miles from me :D :D :D :D :D :D

BUT - just look what other total SHITE I'd have to sit through to see her...OO look a helicopter ....OO look ..another helicopter .... and another .....(Friggin Merlins are night flying over me even now X( ) - No BBMF - No REDS - and if you've seen one Jordanian Falcon you've seen them all :p ------ok there is a Spit MK 11 .... but that's about all .....I feel a mushroom picking operation coming on near the perimeter fence that day.... I know the perfect spot :ymdevil: :ymdevil:

Culdrose Air Day 2010

It'll bring back memories of the late 80's when I was the Manager of a Building Society in Helston and used to have a trade stand at Air Day every year - no blQQdy good for business - but I wangled it year after year :)) :)) There was a certain triangle there then if I remember - flew in the day before and everything .... but I've also been present when NOTHING flew at all - ALL day - FOG :D A ground run by a Catalina - and that was it ......... magic times B-)

I never thought Culdrose would cough up again - they normally wont pay for anything good nowadays - so that'll be a REAL treat ...thank you Mr Navy \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ Got to pray for good weather and good serviceability :-SS :-S :-S

EDIT -10 minutes later ....... BOLLOX - just realised we are booked to be out of the county that week visiting aged parents - confirmation if ever it were needed THERE IS NO GOD ~x( X( ~x( X( ~x( X( ~x( X( ~x( X( ~x( X( ~x( X( ~x( X( ~x( X(

Contracts can be issued, agreed and accepted, I can travel if necessary, you would never have to visit them again!!!! ;)

Alternatively, invite them to your place and TAKE THEM TO THE AIRSHOW!!!!! :-o

MMmmmmm - tempting offer .... I can just see the order for my BMW going in after receiving the inhertitance :ymdevil: :ymdevil: Let me think about it for a nanno second .....

YES ok - go for it - their address is .........................NO - wait a minute ......

Perhaps the 2nd suggestion has some wings ...... MMMmmmmm ......will have to be devious and underhand .... but that's second nature .....Mother's not fit to go mushrooming .... but perhaps I could take my Dad and leave my mother with my wife at home ....... perhaps if I tell my wife we'll need mushrooms for breakfast the next day and we won't be long ..........MMmmmmm .... I see a plan forming ...... just maybe :ymdevil: :ymdevil: :ymdevil: :ymdevil:

I have looked into this. The post regarding 558 at Culdrose is on the Tourist board page, NOT the RNAS official site. Tourist boards ask organisers of events very early on in the year what is going to be happening, they then get a preliminary press release. I suspect this is the case here.
Please take it as gospel that if it is published on the VTTS official site it will happen subject to the usual Caveats.
Our management team are working tirelessly to ensure that as many supporters see her fly as practicable and the goal posts move on an hourly basis. If you subscribe to twitter the information will be with you as soon as it can be published.
Hope this clarifies things.

I'm afraid I beg to differ on this point ... my link takes you to a sub section of the OFFICIAL Royal Navy website
http://www.royalnavy.mod.uk/operations-and-support/establishments/naval-bases-and-air-stations/rnas-culdrose/rnas-culdrose-air-day-2010/
If on that link you click HOME you get to http://www.royalnavy.mod.uk so its not Tourist Board at all.
HMS Seahawk - which is Culdrose - has its own sub section on the Navy site too as RNAS Culdrose.....
http://www.royalnavy.mod.uk/operations-and-support/establishments/naval-bases-and-air-stations/rnas-culdrose/
On that site link the Vulcan is clearly shown as a flying participant (F) :p
Red Dragon - Red Chipmunk....S
Piston Provost....................F
Sabre F86E.......................TBC
Vulcan.............................F
YAk 52.............................S
Falcon.............................S
Seahawk Gliding Club.........S

RNAS Culdrose does not have a website of its own - but there is a link through the tourist board - as you say http://www.culdroseairday.co.uk BUT that then redirects you to my link (The Royal Navy Official one) automatically :p I agree there is a blurb on the Tourist Site - but the point I was making was the official Culdrose Airday flying participants does show XH558 as (F) on my link :D :p

So I think - somehow - Culdrose Official Airday site is pi^^ing in the wind :ymdevil: :ymdevil:

=)) I was going to post that because it's not the VTST site yet don't take it that it isn't going to appear - most venues would NOT say was going to appear if there wasn't a very good chance they had spoken with the VTST about it and it had been agreed in principle - but decided to to do one last check!! :p

I think S.F. will end up having to travel up towards CIVILISATION in order to see 558!

If the VTST site runs similar to last year, then events will have come and gone before the amendment appears.
They had a lot to do in the office!!!
