558 u/s at Farnborough

Postby Smudger 565 » Sun Jul 25, 2010 2:49 am

Hi All

I have not seen any news of this on this site yet, because I am 7hrs ahead of the UK I thought I would just give a heads up. :( :( :(
From VTTS site
XH 558 completed her display yesterday 24th, aircraft checked & it was found a brake unit on one of her wheels was u/s. The statement is she will NOT be flying today the 25th :(( :(( :(( She is crowd side & would be available for guided tours.

Sorry :( :( :(

Sad news indeed. I believe Cluny put this in the Farnborough thread last night.

Was glad to hear the Farnborough website was quick to update :)

They had a lot of brake unit problems the year DT was flying her, but it seemed to settle down last year, depends on the problem I suppose as to how long to fix her & if there are spares available
In memory of a very dear friend - Mike Pearson

Very fond memories of Robbie Gilvary - DTs 1st Vulcan Captain who taught DT all he knew.

As I understand, from yesterday, it fairly simple to sort when they get the bits. Not something they carried with them.

At least I saw this on Monday.
