@ Dan4th
This is from the press conference that was held at the beginning of October.
Is there an official Diamond Jubilee fly-past?
Whilst no plans for an official Diamond Jubilee flypast have been announced, Vulcan to the Sky Trust would very much like to take part if such an event was to happen. In preparation, the Trust has received guidance from the Civil Aviation Authority on what they would need to grant permission for the Vulcan to fly over London. The requested safety case is now being prepared and the Trust very much hopes that they can bring this spectacular aircraft to the people of London in this important year.
Another event that the Trust hopes to take part in is the unveiling of the Memorial to Bomber Command in London’s Green Park, which is due to be completed in the summer of 2012 and opened with a service of dedication. Vulcan XH558, one of only two Bomber Command aircraft still flying in the UK (the other is the RAF’s Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Avro Lancaster) is standing by to participate if invited.

We can hope it happens.

I certainly hope both things happen as well!

There's plenty of precedent for old crates
flying over the metropolis!

Extra security at crew-in and takeoff plus
maybe a fighter escort might be needed.......

Not Kidding! That's the world we live in now!

Danf.
I like to do my planning retroactively!

I'm surprised you've never been to see 655 on the run days Dee.
In memory of a very dear friend - Mike Pearson

Very fond memories of Robbie Gilvary - DTs 1st Vulcan Captain who taught DT all he knew.

How about it being the right thing to do and it being an honour to be part of the events celebrating the selfless actions of the Wootton Bassett residents over the past 4 years?

Quote from the Mail on Sunday 16 October 2011-:
there are currently no plans for an official Diamond Jubilee flypast over London, although the Civil Aviation Authority has given permission for the aircraft to fly over the Capital despite it being 52 years old......

We can only wait and see nearer the date.

Regarding the agenda of yesterday all of them I believe brought the Aircraft to many peoples attention, and I am proud to be part of something that said to the folks at Lynham thank you for your support and also showed respect to the people of Wooton.
More importantly though She was able, by her prescence, to say to those who have lost loved ones in the Afghan conflict "We salute you".
