In principle yes I agree. The problem as I see it is RR accepting a treatment suitable for this engine. As this appears to be something new for the Olympus I assume that they want as much data as possible. Again I think this is about mitigating risks on RR behalf. If they can operate on humans using keyhole surgery then nothing is impossible. If what appears to be corrosion salts at the lowest point then once all the salt is used the corrosion stops and is usually just surface. I think that the blade staining is the one that they are more interested in. I don't think its is evaporated water more likely a coating / treatment that was applied prior to inhibiting (This is / was usual practice having asked many sumpies at work). The answer is out there somewhere its a case of tracking it down and passing it on.


Its a shame we cant get some of these to fit ;)
