I've got to admit, when I first started encountering the
HP Victor, I thought it was one of the UGLIEST aircraft
I'd ever seen! A mish-mash of mismatched parts -- some
of them beautiful individually -- but overall an unfortunate
and poorly balanced combination that made me scratch my
head and say: "HUH?????????"

Well, I'll have you know that ever so s-l-o-w-l-y, I have
been moving to a genuine appreciation of the Victor. It
started out with learning her capabilities and deeds that
were accomplished. I've also been exposed (subjected, I
might have said before) to so many pics and vids and facts
and stories that her peculiar brand of "Rightness" has
begun to creep into my eye for things aeronautical.

Do I think she's a Bavishing Rooty? HA! HA! HA! NO WAY!
Do I think she looks Purposeful and Dangerous and Capable?

YES!

I've always preferred Victor - it's that brutal ugliness that you mention Danf - she means business!

there IS beauty there, but a very different type of beauty

Beauty is in the EYE of the beholder, but she could carry 35 x 1000lb bombs! :ymapplause:

Like D4th I too thought the Victor was an ugly bitch........................

But over the years my eye has become accustomed to the lines and form.
She is actually a beautiful craft. Where ever you stand and look at one, she is an absolute BABE. :)

I think it may have been a Shackleton.

I always said that the Victor was the only one of the V-Bombers that looked like it WANTED to nuke you!

That's why it was always my favourite :D
NB; Any negative comments I post about the Vulcan are posted SOLELY to wind Gregg up!

Awesome video there, yes if only!!

For me the Vulcan is graceful and beautiful with smooth sleek lines, she has elegance. The Victor on the other hand is evil and menacing, a real brute and mean looking but a "beauty" for those reasons.
