Just Up On YouTube:::::::::::

Postby Dan4th » Sun Jan 10, 2010 5:17 pm

Haven't watched all of this yet, but
is this 558 at the start? Tail numbers
seem to be obscured.....

Can anyone name the crew members?

I can't!

Danf.

EDIT: Well, that's certainly DT at the end.........
I like to do my planning retroactively!

It is 558 still with the bomb bay tank in and the farewell on the door gives it away with the glimps of some heavies in the background on the touch and go I'll make a guess at 1992 RIAT.She did the same ground & gut shaking display at Leuchars same year Also last time i watched her fly :(( .

As HH has said all the display sequences were all 558 because there was no air intake on the starboard side of ECM fit under the tail.... the first sequence in the cockpit definitly was 558 the panel above the Red Steer and RWR gives it away...the crew members I can name are AEO our Barry Masefield with 55Sqn Victor Tanker shoulder badges.... the Nav/Plotter I believe was Dave Bradford... Captain I'm not sure but I think it was Paul Millikin..the pull back sequence.. Bomb Bay Tank Fuel gauges under the stick [Tanker Fit]....

The Black Buck aircraft mentioned were all 300series engined aircraft, XM607 [now Waddington] & XM597 [ now East Fortune}
The last landing sequence with 'chute is 1993 final landing in RAF service at Bruntingthorpe..

My guess for the Roller is Mildenhall poss '92.... will check my videos...

Other Nav plotter at the time of final flight - was Graham O'connor. (According to the Video 'Last Flight Of Avro Vulcan 558' )

It looks like it could have been Paul Milikin in the left hand seat, couldn't really see the right hand. As for the rear crew it looked like Barry Masefield was the AEO as for the others, it could have Dave Bradford, or David Moore in the Nav's seat.

I believe the last flight crew were..

Dave Thomas pilot
Paul Millikin pilot
Barry Masefield AEO
Dave Moore Nav
Dave Bradford Nav
Al Slack 6th seat
Dave Thorpe CT 7th seat

I think Graham O'conner was in the DC3 but not sure..
