As promised and after much ribbing over the photo of the engine turbine photo I took these 2 photos of an in situ engine .....

and just to prove I was there ....

The lads took more photos of me getting ready and afterwards... Thanks to my someone who shall remain nameless halfway down when I went to turn the camera on I found the batteries had been removed from the camera so had to go back and get them :((

No but an 18 year old Son who got his own back for me getting him wet last weekend and can run faster than me :(

Which radios are what ? i.e. HF/VHF/UHF
Which of the antennae do what ? I don't see an antenna their which looks large enough for HF use.

isn't the HF antenna the one at the base of the tail? not sure if it's still used though

Ok the HF radios have been removed. The HF aerial tuning unit and aerial where at the base of the dorsal fin.

The radios are UHF / VHF using these aerials

The real entertainment was being stood at the bottom of the ladder, listening to Rick trying to negotiate the thermocouples without damaging them/ himself. With the rest of the crew giggling and hitting them self, cos everyone except Rick knew he had no batteries in the camera. :D

Could you show us some pictures of the flat bits of the main wheel tyres?

do you mean the PESJ [pilot emergency safe jettison] which opens the bomb doors - releases conventional weapons?


Its on the left hand side panel of the left occupant near the pilots left knee
