I was lucky enough today to visit the cockpit of XM573. I can report that she is in excellent condition throughout with only minor instruments/gauges removed. She is typically fragrant with the usually gorgeous Vulcan smell - pity you can't bottle it.

I am ill equipped coming out here with only my mobile phone but I will be home in a couple short weeks where I shall return with my camera for better quality photographs but in the interim, please enjoy.

I wonder why the engine start panel was removed when everything else appears to be intact.

She is fitted with two inboard engines and two where removed when she landed according to the chaps in the Restoration Shop.

I would imagine that the starter panel was removed to prevent temptation? Wonder if there is a spare knocking about?

If the fuel tanks are dry, which considering the aircraft is in a museum they presumably are, then the condition of the bags will have deteriorated so much that they would not hold fuel at all! That would just be for starters....

........but in terms of engine power, yes !!

Two engines would get her moving, probably at less than 50% power (LP speed).

They are all bag tanks, and would have to be removed and either repaired or replaced. Anything is possible, but it aint cheap.

Simplest and cheapest solution (to achieve taxy capability only) would be to fabricate and install a bomb bay tank.

I'm still working on that but because it is British nobody seems interested. They have a program of restoration and unfortunately money is tight. I shall do what I can.
