Certainly doesn't look good. Peel Holdings have a reputation to maintain when it comes to not letting sentiment affect the bottom line.

From the limited info released so far it seems VTTS are hoping for access to a minor corner in perpetuity for £2500 per person customer visits
There'll be no access for taxy runs (not that they ever have anyway ) and I'll bet there'll not be much ability to run engines on the corner of an industrial estate - so a silent hulk wasting away ... no surprise there either ...

No matter how much they (over) charge, VTTS will never be able to pay Peel more than they could get from someone else, and Peel don't do sentiment. VTTS have already lost two hangars that way. You'd think they'd have learned by now.

I can't see anyone actually wanting the old girl at their museum due to all the HLF/VTTS terms and conditions.

Its always the same in these cases .. the greed of the huge cheque books vieing for the land for 'development' lures these sharks every time

I see the Vulcan that shall not be named has 'options' for movement to another site and they are even asking CAA about the possibility of a 'short' relocation flight...
So they have an iron in the fire somewhere nearby Doncaster it seems...

But I dont believe a word they say and the chances of them raising funds to move it are remote as they couldn't even raise money for a hangar.

Its all the same at Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre down here in Cornwall ... Cornwall Council foreclosing on them as they need the land for important 'redevelopment' (BIG MONEY!) so a lot of the precious airframes there will be lost How will they move a VC10 or a BAC 111 etc etc

Sad but inevitably I feel 558 is headed for a gas axe. It was always a very poor idea to try and fund a education center at that scale and cost, but then this seems to be happening to lots of old aircraft. Brunty, wellesborne, Cornwall,Coventry and Doncaster have all seen issues in the last few years.
