Avro Vulcan XH558 performed a flying display at the Royal International Air Tattoo for the first time since 1991 on 18 July, providing the clear highlight for many visitors who attended the sold-out first day of the weekend event.

XH558 took off from the show at Royal Air Force base Fairford in Gloucestershire to perform a flyby at an event in Cosford, before returning to perform a full display at RIAT.

The Vulcan to the Sky Trust responsible for operating the restored Cold War bomber has reported no technical issues as a result of the flight, and expects the aircraft to be in the flying display at the air tattoo on Sunday. The aircraft’s next planned public presentations after RIAT will be at the Lowestoft air show in Suffolk on 23 and 24 July.

In memory of a very dear friend - Mike Pearson

Very fond memories of Robbie Gilvary - DTs 1st Vulcan Captain who taught DT all he knew.

Hope they remember that lowestoft is on the East coast of Britain, and not the East coast of East Falkland

Not too much of a PROBLEM, only ONE bomb would hit the target :p

TSR-2 simply got the first 3 right. ”
