XH558 at Filton today...

Postby Coastergirl » Mon Jul 20, 2009 10:37 pm

Hiya

On the way back from our hospital review meeting, most upset and grumpy, I had a text from Lee123 to say "hope you're ready, she's coming your way!" :-o :-o :-o Could it be? Really?? \:D/ I phoned him, but there was no answer so I called Gully who confirmed the Twitter message saying she was due to overfly Filton (Rolls Royce ;) ) at 13:00 - it was now 12:05 so there was just time to take Nanny home, pick up the video camera and leg it back to Filton for her arrival..... \:D/ :ymapplause: \:D/ Here's the pics I took, and Checkflaps will post the video he took later once it has uploaded to You Tube!

And this was the Vulcan effect outside Airbus ;) :

It was great to see her in this area, first time in many many years and a nice thing for the staff at Rolls Royce. I think she was piloted by Phil O'Dell, the Rolls Royce test pilot who flies their Spitfire PRXIX... cool beans!

EDIT: Here's CF's video from today -

Enjoy!

:ymapplause: Thanks CG :)

I think I said to you and SM after RIAT ... I would love to see 558 outside of an airfield, in transit somewhere (over my house is a bit far fetched) :D
