Air Ambulances Grounded

Postby Jet Morgan » Tue May 08, 2012 5:47 pm

Just found this report on BBC news...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17993232

How serious is this kind of damage from a repair point of view? The news report is vague on the long term consequences for the affected helicopters...

Interesting, not sure I would be too happy to fly in something with a possible rotor cracking problem, rather integral to SAFE flying in a chopper. If the operators are already carrying out daily checks the next stage is to check before every flight and then to NOT fly! I wonder who will pick up the cost of this cock-up? :-o

Fortunately, it seems lots of the Air Ambulances are a different type and are able to cover the duties...

Panic over, we may continue to injure and maim ourselves from 07:00 tomorrow morning. It appears all have been allowed to resume flying.........
